Toffees trio sign new deals

Everton have been handed a major boost with the news Phil Jagielka, Tim Howard and Joseph Yobo have all signed contract extensions. The talented trio were targeted by boss David Moyes as players he wished to tie down to long-term deals, and the Scot has wasted little time in securing their services.Jagielka, the club's player of the year, is currently sidelined having suffered a serious injury to his cruciate ligament and confirmation of Everton's continued faith in his ability will be a major fillip ahead of a hard summer of rehabilitation.Goalkeeper Howard has proved to be an inspired piece of business on Moyes' part since joining the club from Manchester United, initially on-loan, in the 2006/07 campaign.Although Nigeria international Yobo has had to play second fiddle to Jagielka for much of the past campaign, he has proved to be a reliable performer whenever called upon and Moyes is clearly delighted to have the trio commit their futures to Everton.Exciting future"It's great that three valuable members of the squad have committed themselves to the club for a lengthy period," Moyes told the club's official website."Tim, Phil and Joseph have been big players for us over the last few years and it's great news that they will continue to be so for the foreseeable future."I have been pleased with the way we've gone about our business."We spoke to Phil, Tim and Joseph and we got everything done and dusted efficiently and quietly, which is the way we like things to be done."
