Carlisle wait on Raven

Carlisle United boss Greg Abbott is waiting for David Raven's decision on a contract offer after agreeing terms with Tony Kane. Raven has been offered a new two-year deal at Brunton Park and has until 16th June to decide on his future with the League One club. The defender is currently on holiday, but Abbott is optimistic that the former Liverpool youngster will agree to stay."I had a very positive conversation with David just before he went on holiday," Abbott told the club's official website. "I am very hopeful from the way the chat went that we will get a good response from him when he returns, but, as with all of these situations, we just have to wait and see."Meanwhile, Abbott also confirmed that Blackburn right-back Kane has verbally agreed terms on a two-year deal to return to Carlisle permanently. He added: "We know what we're getting with Tony and we think that he is a young player who will continue to improve and get better."We now have to wait until he is clear of his commitments with Blackburn, but we don't see that as a problem at all."
