Stalemate frustrates Simpson

Stockport boss Paul Simpson was frustrated after his team were unable to break the deadlock in a goalless home draw against Wycombe. Simpson felt his side should have taken all three points such was their dominance but County's opening two matches have given the manager cause for optimism for the remainder of the campaign. "We have had two really difficult opening league fixtures this season, but I am disappointed because we've drawn them both," said Simpson. "Wycombe are on the fancied teams this season, but we gave them no end of problems. We had plenty of possession and created opportunities - it's just a shame we couldn't finish any of them off. "There were so many good things, particularly considering I've had to cobble this squad together in such a short time. I can't ask for any more of the players, there's plenty for us to build on." He added: "Let's not forget Wycombe are a good side, they'll be up there at the end of the season. But I've had lots of positives to take from the opening three games so far. "I'm pleased with our two points so far, but hopefully our first win isn't too far away now."
