Moyes dashes Hoops talk

David Moyes has distanced himself from the vacant manager's job at Celtic by insisting he is happy at Everton. The former Hoops star has been touted as a possible successor to Gordon Strachan at Parkhead, with the Glasgow giants keen to land a coach with considerable experience.Moyes has spent the last six years moulding a successful side at Goodison Park, displaying all the attributes to suggest he would be a success with the Old Firm outfit. However, the Glasgow giants look doomed to failure in their efforts to lure Moyes back to Scotland. An approach is already believed to have been made by the Hoops board, but their intended target insists he has unfinished business on Merseyside."There may well have been an inquiry from Celtic but that doesn't interest me," said Moyes."I am not tempted to take any steps. At the moment I am the Everton manager. I am a really loyal person."I am also really ambitious. I will make sure the chairman stays ambitious and the club remains ambitious. We can't stop."After this I will have a holiday and then try to bring in one or two new players."Moyes' greatest ambition is to break into the Premier League's top four on a consistent basis, having already achieved that target once back in 2005.FundsHe does, however, accept that his budget is considerably smaller than that of the sides he is trying to topple, and that continues to hinder his cause."We have to hang on to the coat tails of those above," he said following Everton's fifth placed finish in the 2008/09 campaign."Last summer I thought we had a chance. We could not quite get there but we have not fallen away."Sometimes you have to persevere as a manager. You don't always have big funds."Moyes might not enjoy the financial clout of some of Everton's rivals, but he insists the Toffees remain one of English football's most prestigious clubs."Money might give me more scope but I am at a great football club, one that matches my ambitions, he said."There are not many bigger clubs in England than Everton."Just because other clubs have owners with a lot of money does that mean they are bigger?"Football goes in cycles. I think ours is close to coming around again."
