Holloway laughs off Beattie talk

Ian Holloway has laughed off speculation linking him with a move for Stoke's James Beattie after joking Blackpool could not afford his toenail. Beattie has fallen down the pecking order at the Britannia Stadium following a bust-up with Potters boss Tony Pulis over the club's Christmas party.Blackpool have been linked with a move for the 32-year-old since their promotion to the Premier League but Holloway has poured cold water on those reports."Goodness gracious me, that would be nice, wouldn't it?" he told the Blackpool Gazette when asked about the speculation."But unfortunately I can't afford his left little toenail and I wouldn't insult Stoke by even going to them."You are talking about a bloke who has been in the top flight for however many years, a top goalscorer."Stoke paid £3m for him. He kept them up the other January, and he still has God knows how many years left on his contract. "So why on earth are we being linked with someone like that? This is absolute nonsense."
