Bolton boss backs Cahill to shine

olton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle believes the club's highly-rated central defender Gary Cahill can become a regular in England squads. Cahill is yet to win a senior England cap but is set to make his first appearance for the Three Lions in their friendly against Hungary at Wembley on Wednesday night. The defender could get his chance off the bench with Fabio Capello sure to make substantial changes with the Premier League season set to kick off on Saturday. And Coyle believes Cahill can go from strength to strength with England. He told the Bolton News: "I certainly hope he gets some time on the pitch, because as I have said from day one, I believe once Gary Cahill makes an appearance for England, he will go on to be named in every single squad. That's the high esteem I hold him in. "There are a lot of changes but I firmly believe that he would merit a place in the squad even if everyone were available."Gary gives everything, whether it's for his country or for his football club. I expect to see him do that again tonight."Coyle is also delighted to see Cahill represent Bolton in the England squad. He added: "As much as we might deride the midweek internationals, to have a player at that level playing for their country is a massive thing for Bolton Wanderers."It's an honour for Gary and for the football club, so of course, as a manager I'm very proud."
