Trap allows Aiden to skip friendly

Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni has confirmed Aiden McGeady will play no part in the clash against Argentina on Wednesday. The Celtic winger has been given permission to miss the international friendly so he can finalise his club future.Bhoys manager Neil Lennon revealed over the weekend that McGeady was on the verge of sealing a switch to Spartak Moscow after a long period of speculation about a possible move. And Trapattoni has no problems with leaving out McGeady for the clash with Argentina in midweek."We let him go and make what he must do," said Trapattoni."Maybe he will go to Russia but at the moment he is not with us."Trapattoni also confirmed Glenn Whelan and Sean St Ledger have been ruled out of the game through injury, while Marc Wilson, Caleb Folan and Shane Long are also unavailable.Richard Dunne and Kevin Doyle are carrying knee and leg injuries respectively but Trapattoni added: "They are having scans to clarify their injuries but I think everything will be okay in the next 48 hours."
