Davies spells it out to Forest

After the Scot guided the City Ground outfit to Championship survival last season, expectations at the club are currently high, with Davies talking to a number of potential signings including QPR striker Dexter Blackstock and Tottenham's Chris Gunter. But having taken Derby to the Premier League two years ago, Davies is fully aware of how hard it is to do so. "Fans have to understand that the Championship is one of the toughest divisions in the world to get out of," he told the Nottingham Evening Post. "At Derby I was told that, if we did not get into the Premiership within two or three years, it would become an almost impossible task because of the growing difference in finance between clubs. My remit at Derby was to spend money to get promoted. "But the Championship is becoming harder and harder - which is why (chairman) Peter Gadsby took the stance he did ay Derby. We wanted to try and get into the top flight as quickly as possible because we knew it would be a monster task to get into the Premiership with each year that went by."
