Slade targets top six next season

Slade admits he is unlikely to have an increased budget at his disposal, with new chairman Tony Bloom ploughing most of his investment in the club into the Falmer Stadium project. But after last week's clearout of players, the former Yeovil manager believes he can build a side which will challenge at the right end of the table. "It is probably going to be similar to last season. We have not nailed down the exact figure," he told the Argus. "It still gives us the flexibility, in my opinion, to be pushing into the top six. "We are spinning plates - that's all you can do at this stage. It is not easy with players and managers away. "You are negotiating and talking to agents and third parties but that is part of the job. That is what it is like during the close-season and I am going to enjoy putting a squad together."
