Boruc calls on fans to lend support

Celtic go into their final game of the season against Hearts as title outsiders with Rangers leading the way by two points. But victory against Hearts would clinch Celtic's fourth title in succession if Rangers fail to beat Dundee United at Tannadice, and Boruc has called on the Celtic fans to hand them an advantage. The Poland goalkeeper said: "The supporters are always important for us, especially at Celtic Park when we face such a big game. They are like an extra man for us on the pitch. "It's going to be a big day for the club and we need the supporters more than ever. "They always get behind us and hopefully we can all enjoy a special day this weekend." Boruc had reason to thank the fans last weekend after winning the club's goal of the season award for his penalty in the shoot-out victory against Dundee United. Boruc sent Poland and future Celtic team-mate Lukasz Zaluska the wrong way with a perfectly despatched shot into the top corner to helped the Hoops reach the Co-operative Insurance Cup final. "I was pleased to get the award and it makes it even better that the supporters voted for me," Boruc said in an interview to be published in Celtic View. "I just want to say thanks to them for giving me the award. "I must admit though that I just shut my eyes and hoped for the best." Celtic 1/5, Draw 11/2, Hearts 12/1
