Cleverley to join the Latics

Twenty-one year old Manchester United youngster Tom Cleverley is set to complete his loan move to the Latics within the next few days. The left sided midfield player has been the subject of much Premiership interest and Martinez is said to have fought off Bolton and Newcastle for his signature. Sır Alex Ferguson is said to have recommended the Latics as a good club to spend time at given the style of football adopted under Roberto Martinez. Cleverley has impressed on United's pre-season tour of the United States and scored a superb individual goal against the MLS All-Stars in Houston. The move is likely to be a twelve month loan.
