Herd certain over Shots deal

Aldershot defender Ben Herd admitted that he had no doubts over signing a contract extension at the Recreation Ground thanks to the guidance of manager Kevin Dillon. Dillon led the Shots to a play-off place last season and has impressed with his summer recruitment this year as he prepares for his first full season in charge. Herd said: "It only feels like two minutes ago that we were playing Rotherham in the play-offs but it is good to be back. "There are plenty of new players but I am used to that and dressing rooms change at this level. It is a happy changing room and a good one too. To be able to get a player of the quality of Glen Little is a real coup for the club. "I had no hesitation in signing a new deal. The gaffer has been quality to me. He didn't have to offer me anything as I still had a year to run on my old deal. But you can see what he is trying to do here and there is a feeling that the place has that professional pride and it appears to be heading in the right direction. "He is the main part of that trying to drive it forward and get people to see what his vision is and to go along with him on it."
