Mouyokolo doubtful for Prem opener

ew Wolves signing Steven Mouyokolo is unsure whether he will be fit for the first Premier League game of the season. The 23-year-old, who recently arrived at the Molineux from Hull in a £2.5million deal, made his debut for Wolves during last Friday's 1-0 friendly win at Cheltenham and is set for another run-out against Hearts on Tuesday after missing Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Leeds. But the French-born defender sustained an ankle injury earlier this summer that cost him three weeks' training, and he is now facing a battle to regain full fitness ahead of Wolves' opening match of the season against Stoke on August 14."I don't know yet whether I'll make the Stoke game, but I'll do my best to be fit," Mouyokolo told the Express and Star. "All I know is I'll be working as hard as possible to get my fitness back. I can't say whether I'll be fully fit in one, two or three weeks - it depends on my body. "I need to work on my power because I missed three weeks. "Everything feels good and I know the staff will do a good job with me to get back."Despite his uncertainty, Mouyokolo is pleased with the rate of his recovery, adding: "I was very happy to get on the pitch and play 75 minutes after four days' training and the pain has gone."From what he has seen of his new team-mates, centre-back Mouyokolo believes Wolves are capable of improving on their 15th-placed finish last season. "I think we have something to say in this league," he added. "Wolves did well last season and now we have more experience. "The players know what the Premier League is about now and we know how tough it's going to be."
