Dani Alves puts Manchester City on alert

Rampaging right back: Barcelona ace AlvesDani Alves has teased Manchester City by refusing to close the door on a move to Eastlands. The Brazil right back insists he is happy at Barcelona, but admits his future at the Nou Camp doesn't rest entirely in his hands. City have monitored the 27-year-old but fear Alves is using interest from abroad to squeeze a new deal out of the Spanish champions. However, Barca's dire financial situation has seen talks shelved and their remains a fear of who might be sacrificed next following the sale of Dmytro Chygrynskiy to Shakhtar Donetsk against the wishes of coach Pep Guardiola.Alves said: 'In life, you can never close any doors,' he said when asked about City's interest. 'I'm very happy at Barcelona and intend to fulfill my contract (till 2012) - unless the club decides differently. 'I never say never to anyone and I'm greatly flattered that other clubs are interested in my work.' Alves admitted he would like to stay at the Nou Camp for a long time, but conceded: 'There hasn't been a serious approach to sit down and discuss the issue. But it is not something that worries me.' While City have shown interest, their current priorities lie in signing Mario Balotelli from Inter Milan and Aston Villa's James Milner.   Mark Hughes can't resist a late dig at former club Manchester City after taking over at Fulham Sign up to our FREE Fantasy Football game - with £40,000 in prize money up for grabsFulham and Stoke battle in pursuit of out-of-favour City striker Santa CruzYaya Toure: Barcelona said I was crazy to leave and join Manchester CityMANCHESTER CITY FC
