Kandol can leave Leeds

Leeds striker Tresor Kandol has had his contract cancelled by mutual consent. Since being signed by Dennis Wise in November 2006, Kandol scored 16 goals in 77 appearances and formed a formidable partnership with Jermaine Beckford in the 2007/08 season. However, he has been rarely used by current manager Simon Grayson, making just 13 appearances last term. Meanwhile, the club have allowed third-choice goalkeeper Alan Martin to join Blue Square Premier side Barrow on loan until January. The Scotland Under-21 international will return to the club where he made 20 appearances in a similar deal during the 2008/09 season. The highly-rated shot-stopper has not made a senior appearance for Leeds and will hope to gain some first-team experience in order to challenge Kasper Schmeichel and Shane Higgs for the number one jersey at Elland Road.
