Hodgson sorry for Magpies

Fulham chief Roy Hodgson admitted he felt sorry for Newcastle after his side's 1-0 win at St James' Park. Newcastle dropped into the bottom three after Diomansy Kamara's first half goal proved to be enough to give Fulham all three points. The win boosts Fulham's hopes of finishing in seventh spot and securing a place in Europe next season, but Hodgson admitted they rode their luck at times to secure the victory on Tyneside.Hodgson was full of praise for his goalkeeper and defence as they kept Newcastle at bay to pick up another win in a memorable season for the West London outfit."We came here to some extent as sacrificial lambs today," said Hodgson."It was a great win here today. I feel sorry for Newcastle - they deserved better, we rode our luck on several occasions."We are thankful for a very good performance from our back four and goalkeeper."
