Davies keen to conclude transfers

When in charge of both Preston and Derby, Davies guided the pair to the play-offs, meaning he was unable to start his transfer business until the end of May. But as Forest only just managed to stave off relegation rather than challenge for promotion, Davies is experiencing a long summer for the first time in English football. "It is a good feeling finishing this early for us," the Scot told the Nottingham Evening Post. "I am intending on trying to get things concluded very soon. We are in negotiations with several clubs about players. The last thing I want to do is walk up and down a beach on holiday with my phone in my hand." Forest have already opened talks with Tottenham over the potential signing of Chris Gunter, while discussions are also underway with QPR regarding Dexter Blackstock and Lee Camp.
