Ridsdale reveals Ramsey offer

Peter Ridsdale has announced that Cardiff failed in a bid to bring Aaron Ramsey back to the club on loan for next season. The highly-rated midfielder left the Bluebirds to join Arsenal last summer and he has shown glimpses of his talent for the Premier League club. But opportunities have been hard to come by and Ridsdale has now confirmed Cardiff were keen to snap him up for the 2009/10 campaign. However, the Gunners made it clear to Ridsdale that Ramsey would remain part of Arsene Wenger's plans next term. "I have asked. But my understanding is that Arsenal won't let him out on loan," the Cardiff chairman told the MediaOnline website. Cardiff narrowly missed out on a place in the Championship play-offs and Ridsdale feels they need to strengthen significantly over the summer. He was also asked about Manchester United's Welsh midfielder Ryan Giggs, adding: "I'd love to see a player of Ryan Giggs' quality and stature playing for Cardiff City. "But I haven't got a crystal ball, so I don't know whether it will happen, or when."
