Grant calm over Upson injury

West Ham manager Avram Grant does not believe that an injury suffered by star defender Matthew Upson on Saturday is anything serious. The England international sustained a minor problem in the 1-0 friendly win over Ipswich and he was substituted as a precaution.Former Birmingham centre-back Upson is a key man for the Hammers and Grant will be keen to have the 31-year-old fully fit for his new era at Upton Park.Injuries will therefore be a concern for the West Ham boss, but he does not think that the defender's fitness setback is a major issue ahead of Tuesday's trip to Southend and next Saturday's visit of Deportivo La Coruna.Upson was playing only his second match since returning from the World Cup and Grant told West Ham's official website: "I don't think it (the injury) is serious, but we don't want to risk our players."I think he will be okay, but we need to see what the medical department say."
