Dons boss completes double swoop

Mark McGhee has bolstered his Aberdeen squad after wrapping up deals for Scott Vernon and Yoann Folly ahead of the new SPL campaign. The pair are the club's fourth and fifth signings of the summer following the arrivals of Rory McArdle, Josh Magennis and Mark Howard.Ex-Plymouth midfielder Folly has been on trial for a number of weeks and has impressed McGhee in pre-season outings.Folly, a defensive midfielder, started his career at St Etienne before he was brought to the United Kingdom by Gordon Strachan during his spell as Southampton manager.Paul Sturrock then took him to Sheffield Wednesday and then to Plymouth.Folly represented France at youth level before making his senior debut for Togo in 2008.Vernon featured for Colchester last season and the 26-year-old, who has also played for Oldham and Blackpool, goes straight into Aberdeen's squad to face Port Vale on Tuesday.The striker completed a medical at Loughborough late on Sunday night.Vernon has also had loan spells at Northampton, Gillingham and Southend during his career.
