Mixu voices fears over stewarding

Several supporters ran on to the pitch at Tynecastle as Riordan and his team-mates celebrated in front of home fans in the Wheatfield Stand following his 79th-minute goal. The 1-0 win by an under-strength Hibernian team was overshadowed by the incident, which saw Hibs players confronted by supporters. Hibs defender Ian Murray was also struck by a coin in the aftermath of the goal.Paatelainen said: "I must say I felt there was quite a small number of stewards on that far side. I was surprised by that, knowing it is a derby match and a volatile atmosphere."It's disappointing to see that happening, player safety is the most important thing. Thankfully it was put under control very quickly."Paatelainen added: "I wasn't really worried. I always trust that our players are a bit quicker and fitter than their supporters. Maybe not braver."The Finn also laughed off the incident which saw Murray struck by a missile."He's fine - the coin is in his pocket now, knowing him," Paatelainen said. The Hibs manager had earlier sought action from a police officer over abuse from supporters behind his dugout."I felt on the right-hand side of the dugout there was no steward there and every time I went to that side I got quite a mouthful," Paatelainen said."I felt, just in case, just to avoid things happening, I wanted to make sure the situation was calm."Hearts vowed to take action against any supporter who is found guilty in connection with the incident.Managing director Campbell Ogilivie said: "The club will fully investigate the incident and will take the necessary action against any supporter found guilty of an offence. "This type of irresponsible behaviour will not be tolerated."Paatelainen was delighted with his side's victory amid the absence of a full team of players, including suspended centre-backs Rob Jones, Chris Hogg and Sol Bamba."It was a sweet one, because we were totally up against it," he added. "The team performance was fantastic."Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo felt his team had underestimated Hibs given their selection problems."I must say sorry to the fans - this was the worst performance of the season from my team," he said.Lothian and Borders Police said two males were arrested at the match. Both are due to appear in court on Friday.A police spokesman added that 15 supporters were ejected, 10 by stewards and five by police officers, for "minor behavioural issues".
