Shearer considering Owen recall

Alan Shearer has insisted he would have no qualms about bringing Michael Owen back into his Newcastle side for the clash with Middlesbrough. The Magpies boss decided to leave the striker out of his starting XI for the 3-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday but he has been pleased with his attitude in training this week.Shearer is now considering whether to recall Owen for Monday night's crucial North East derby. And he is convinced the 29-year-old would turn in a good performance if selected."I know the response I would get, to be honest, because he is that type of lad and he is that type of professional," said the manager."It was a very, very difficult decision, without a doubt. "He was disappointed, but he took it in a very professional way, as you would expect because of what he is and who he is."Newcastle have yet to win in five matches under Shearer but remain just three points adrift of safety ahead of the visit of Boro.
