White Hart Lane chief Redknapp raving about Spurs rising star Assou-Ekotto

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has praised Benoit Assou-Ekotto for his progress this season and for keeping Gareth Bale out of his team.   Assou-Ekotto was behind Bale, Lee Young-Pyo and Gilberto in the pecking order a year ago but has been a regular under Redknapp since the manager's arrival at White Hart Lane last October.   Redknapp has been linked with Porto full-back Aly Cissokho but has also been impressed with the improvement from Assou-Ekotto.   Key performer: Assou-Ekotto has put in some fine displays for Tottenham'He has done very well,' Redknapp said. 'I think he has been injured before but I have been very impressed with him this season as he has been in great form. He has looked an outstanding left-back.'Assou-Ekotto's form means Bale still has not tasted a Premier League victory since arriving from Southampton nearly two years ago.   On the road: Redknapp wants Spurs to improve awayHis next chance could be the trip to Everton at the weekend. After losing only once at White Hart Lane under Redknapp, Spurs are looking to take their home form into their away matches.   'We look at everything and that's something we need to address,' said assistant boss Kevin Bond.   'We're looking at how we can improve that away form and be more resolute.   'It's always going to be more difficult on another team's patch but we've bossed games away from home. 'We did well at Manchester United but one decision went against us and we shouldn't really have capitulated like we did.   'Go back to Blackburn as well, we dominated there before losing 2-1. 'If something goes against us or we concede a goal then we have to be more resilient. We're looking at everything and seeing where we can improve.   'We've done well at home and if we can get near to that form away from home we'll be a team to be reckoned with.' Chelsea and City facing battle with 'everyone in England' for TrezeguetArsenal youngster Ozyakup stuns England but Garbutt Leeds fightbackGomes aims to go from gaffe-maker to record breaker as Spurs aim for EuropeBest Bosmans: Sportsmail's guide to the top out-of-contract players TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FC
