Seagulls chief hails new boss

Slade signed a new two-year contract on Tuesday after successfully steering the club away from relegation and Knight is hopeful the club will be ready to offer the former Yeovil boss another long-term deal in time for the stadium opening, due in August 2011.Work has already begun on the construction of the 22,500-seater arena and Knight told the club's official website: "Obviously we've escaped going down into League Two and our objective has to be at the other end of the League One table challenging to go to the Championship."In an ideal world we'd be in the Championship by the time we go to Falmer at the very least but I don't want to put too much pressure on him."I'd like to see Russell take the club into Falmer but he is realistic, we all are in football, that we have to be pragmatic about things and he's got a real chance to move this club forward in the two years."I hope very much that before the end of the two years we'll be offering him a new longer contract to really take the club forward to Falmer. He's got the make-up and resources to take this club forward a long way."
