Ward hails James` adaptability

Colchester boss John Ward believes the club will reap the benefits of midfielder Lloyd James' versatility this season. The former Southampton apprentice has signed a permanent contract with the Us after impressing during pre-season training. Ward expects James to compete for a regular starting berth in the middle of the park but says he can also slot in at full-back. He told the club's official website: "We're looking for him to compete for a place in midfield with the lads already here but he can also play at full-back. "He's another versatile footballer we now have and it's pleasing to have players like that at the club."
