Money Talks But Cardiff Have Not Been Speaking To Motherwell

Every club has to meet commitments and Motherwell would be derelict in their duty if they failed to chase outstanding payments due. Motherwell are chasing Cardiff to settle a "substantial" instalment of the transfer fee due for defender Paul Quinn which is overdue. The January instalment of the reported £300,000 fee for his move to Wales is still not sitting in the Motherwell bank account, according to the Fir Park. The Bluebirds have well recorded financial difficulties including a tax bill to Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs which had a winding-up order attached. That bill was paid last month, but their debt to former owner Sam Hammam and the Langston Corporation is believed to be around £15million. Motherwell chief executive Leeann Dempster said: "The board have been very patient with Cardiff given the financial pressures they have faced. However, the interests of our shareholders, employees and fans are being jeopardised by the failure of Cardiff City to pay the debt that they have outstanding. We have made clear to the board of Cardiff that we are left with no option but to pursue every possible avenue of recourse to secure our own club's interests. We hope that this matter can be resolved in an orderly manner." Editor Ger Harley (ger@scottishfitba.net)Admin Team (admin@scottishfitba.net)This is Scottish-Fitba.Net
