York were fantastic - Foyle

York City boss Martin Foyle paid tribute to the standard of play as his impressive side were held to a 0-0 draw by promotion rivals Luton Town at Bootham Crescent. James Meredith was closest to a winner for the hosts when thumping a superb long-range effort against the crossbar, while stylish midfield pair Alex Lawless and Neil Barrett both provided moments of real danger. “I have seen quite a few League Two games and the standard is nowhere near what we had in this game, but the hardest thing is getting out of this division,” Foyle told The Press.“It was an absolutely fantastic response after Saturday’s game.“Every one of them worked hard and we were unlucky not to score a goal."He continued: “I love the honesty in our camp. All the players got stuck in and we never gave Luton the chance to play, which they like to do. They will be happy going home with a 0-0 draw.“We looked more dangerous with our set-pieces and they were great deliveries from Neil Barrett and Chris Carruthers.“I would like to thank the supporters who got behind the lads and it was a good crowd."
