York pitch didn't help us - Money

Luton Town manager Richard Money says the point that his side earned on a difficult surface at York City could prove vital at the end of the season. The Hatters chief was delighted with his team's performance after they came under increased pressure during the second-half from their promotion rivals."I think we'll look back once the campaign has finished and see how valuable that point was," he told the club's official website."I thought it was a terrific point and a great result on a night where we could have played better."We were excellent in the first half but not so good in the second but I am pleased to have left with a point from what is a difficult place to come."Money believed that the heavily sanded Bootham Crescent pitch did his team no favours as it restricted their usual passing style."I thought the pitch dictated the way we played," he said. "In the first half we played really well but in the second half as it cut up it was more like Blackpool beach."We're a passing team and we want to pass the ball on the floor which we found it difficult to do."They came back at us in the second half and made life hard for us so I'm delighted to have come away with a point all things considered."
