City sign veteran keeper
York City are being reported as having signed veteran 40-year-old Australian goalkeeper Simon Miotto as cover for Michael Ingham and Josh Mimms, although this is yet to be confirmed by the club. Miotto started his career with Launceston Juventus in Tasmania's Northern Premier League in 1993 before joining Blackpool the following year. He stayed for a season at Bloomfield Road but failed to make a single senior appearance.He moved to Hartlepool United in 1998 and managed a handful of appearances in his two years with them. A brief spell at Scunthorpe United followed before he ventured north of the border to sign for Raith Rovers and St Johnstone.In July 2004 he earned a one-year contract at West Bromwich Albion, and has since being playing in Danish football with the likes of Olstykke, Akademisk Boldklub, Koge Boldclub and Herfolge BK.
