Double blow for Minstermen

York will be without Josh Carson and Wes Fletcher against Torquay and boss Nigel Worthington is hoping the pair will not be ruled out for the rest of the season.

Midfielder Carson and striker Fletcher both sustained knee ligament damage in Saturday's win at Portsmouth and having named the same starting line-up for the sixth successive game, Worthington will be forced into changes.

Ryan Jarvis could make his first start since New Year's Day in a central role up front, with Michael Coulson switching to the wing, while Lewis Montrose provides a midfield option in Carson's absence.

Defender Lanre Oyebanjo is another injury concern after taking a knock at Portsmouth as the Minstermen chase a sixth straight win.

Torquay could have winger Shamir Goodwin available.

Goodwin has travelled north with the Gulls squad as Torquay wait for a verdict on their appeal against his three-match ban for a straight red card against Newport on Saturday.

If the appeal is successful then the 19-year-old Brighton loanee looks set to start against the in-form Minstermen as Torquay look for their first away win since September 1.

Manager Chris Hargreaves has a number of options if he chooses to freshen up his rock-bottom side with Ashley Yeoman, Nathan Craig and Jayden Stockley all pushing for starts.
