McCarey set for York bow

York's latest loan signing Aaron McCarey is expected to go straight into the starting line-up against Rochdale.

McCarey was drafted in on Thursday following the recall of Nick Pope by parent club Charlton, while first-choice goalkeeper Michael Ingham remains sidelined with a hip injury.

Striker Ryan Bowman sits out the second game of his four-match ban and defender Dan Parslow remains sidelined with a knee injury sustained in last weekend's defeat at Southend, so David McGurk should partner loanee Keith Lowe in central defence.

The Minstermen have won only one of their last eight league games.

Rochdale will be without suspended central defenders Olly Lancashire and Jack O'Connell.

Lancashire was sent off for two yellow card offences in the midweek defeat to Scunthorpe and sits out a one-game ban, while O'Connell received a straight red card and is suspended for three matches.

Another defender, Joe Rafferty, missed out against Scunthorpe due to a knock so Rhys Bennett stepped in and will be hoping to retain his place at right-back.

Lee Molyneux, a recent loan signing from Crewe, could be in line for his full debut after stepping off the bench in midweek as Dale chase back-to-back away league wins.
