Winfield banned for Morecambe test

Dave Winfield will miss out for York against Morecambe after seeing red on Saturday.

The defender starts a three-match ban which means Femi Ilesanmi is likely to return to the starting line-up after a knee injury forced him out of the side.

Emile Sinclair continues to miss out with a thigh injury that has kept him out for the last three weeks.

Fellow striker Wes Fletcher is out for the season with a torn hamstring, but manager Russ Wilcox will be full of confidence after what he described as one of the best wins of his career against Hartlepool at the weekend.

Jack Redshaw and Mark Hughes are primed for a return to Morecambe's squad.

The pair missed the weekend's win over Portsmouth, which was the Shrimps' first over the 2008 FA Cup winners, with hamstring injuries but they trained on the pitch with the first-team squad beforehand and are expected to come back in.

Boss Jim Bentley conceded the victory over Pompey had left some of his squad "walking wounded" and the likes of Kevin Ellison and Andrew Wright, substitutes on Saturday, may come in to the XI if others miss out.

Barry Roche (hip) and midfielder Ryan Williams (hernia) are definitely out for Morecambe, who are seven points off the Sky Bet League Two play-off spots.
