Fletcher aims for Minstermen return

York striker Wes Fletcher is hoping to be back in contention against Mansfield as his side chase their first home win of the season.

Fletcher has missed the last three games due to a hamstring strain and could hand boss Russ Wilcox a selection dilemma after Jake Hyde and Ryan Brunt were partnered up front for the first time in the midweek draw at Morecambe.

Striker Ryan Jarvis sits out the second game of his three-match ban, but defender Dan Parslow is back in contention following his recent loan spell at Grimsby.

Defender Dave Winfield (thigh) and midfielder Josh Carson (knee) remain sidelined, while on-loan Sheffield United striker Diego De Girolamo is pushing for a recall.

Mansfield's injury problems continue to mount as Alex Fisher and Kieron Freeman are added to the list of absentees.

Striker Fisher is set to be out until December after suffering a dislocated shoulder against Tranmere. On-loan Derby full-back Freeman was substituted at Prenton Park due to a knee problem and he will probably miss the next two matches.

The Stags were already without Luke Jones (Achilles), Matt Rhead (hamstring), Adam Murray (suspension) and Chris Clements in midweek, while midfielders Fergus Bell (dislocated collarbone) and Simon Heslop (hamstring) have been soldiering on in recent weeks despite not being fully fit.

Some relief for manager Paul Cox sees captain Murray available again after his ban.
