Striker dilemma for Worthington

Strikers Wes Fletcher and Ryan Bowman are both pushing for their league debuts in York's first meeting with Hartlepool in over 10 years.

Boss Nigel Worthington must decide whether to shake up his strikeforce with the Minstermen scoring just one goal in their first three matches. Ryan Jarvis and Richard Cresswell have started both league games up front so far.

Worthington has no new injury or suspension concerns but is still without Estonia international Sander Puri, who will be sidelined for a further five weeks due to a hamstring injury.

Midfielder Craig Clay, who made way for fellow summer signing Lewis Montrose last week, is hoping to return to the starting line-up.

Hartlepool skipper Antony Sweeney will miss out due to a calf injury.

The midfielder sustained the problem in the home defeat to Southend last week and was replaced by Simon Walton, who is expected to make his first league start of the season.

Striker Steve Howard has yet to start a game for Pools this term but could be included from kick-off after putting in extra shifts in midweek to improve his fitness.

Manager Colin Cooper has no other selection issues as he looks to win his first competitive game since taking charge.
