Striker shortage for Minstermen

York boss Nigel Worthington could be left short of strikers as Ryan Jarvis is definitely out of the home game against Chesterfield and Ryan Bowman is doubtful.

Jarvis was forced out of the weekend defeat at Hartlepool due to an ankle injury after he had stepped off the substitutes' bench to replace Bowman, who had sustained a problem with his Achilles.

Should both players miss out, winger Michael Coulson could start in a central role alongside Wes Fletcher while teenagers Chris Dickinson and Shaq McDonald provide Worthington with alternative options.

Midfielder Lewis Montrose starts a two-game ban after reaching 10 bookings, so Adam Reed or Tom Platt could return to the starting line-up.

Marc Richards comes back into the reckoning for Chesterfield.

Richards served a one-match suspension on Saturday as the Spireites won 3-1 at Northampton but the club's joint-leading goalscorer will be back in the squad on Tuesday night to boost manager Paul Cook's striking options.

However, Drew Talbot remains unavailable for selection due to an abductor problem so Tendayi Darikwa could fill in at right-back again as he did at Sixfields.

The likes of Nathan Smith, Sam Hird, Sam Togwell, Jay O'Shea and Armand Gnanduillet, who came off the bench to score Chesterfield's final goal against the Cobblers, are also options for Cook should he want to make changes.
