Montrose back in York frame

York midfielder Lewis Montrose returns to contention for the home game with Cheltenham following suspension.

Montrose has completed a two-game ban after reaching 10 yellow cards, but striker Ryan Jarvis remains doubtful due to an ankle injury and defender David McGurk is hoping to shake off a back strain.

If McGurk is ruled out again John McCombe will continue at the heart of defence alongside Keith Lowe, who will face his former club, as will midfielder Russell Penn.

Michael Coulson is pushing for a recall to the starting line-up, but Will Hayhurst made his full debut in last week's win at Fleetwood and is hoping to continue.

Cheltenham will be without midfielder David Noble once more after he suffered an injury set-back.

The former Bristol City midfielder is yet to feature in 2014 but he returned to training on Tuesday only to find his hamstring was still not right and he has been sent to see a specialist, ruling him out of the clash with the Minstermen.

Another midfielder who will not be involved is Kemar Roofe, who returned to West Brom at the end of his two-month loan stay in a bid to impress new boss Pepe Mel.

But Swansea loanee Lee Lucas received praise from manager Mark Yates for an 'excellent' Robins debut on Saturday and he looks likely to figure prominently against a York side that include a number of former Cheltenham players.
