Fletcher hopes to feature

York summer signing Wes Fletcher is hoping to overcome an ankle injury in time to make his debut against his former club Burnley in the Capital One Cup.

Fletcher, released from Turf Moor in June, missed the Minstermen's opening-day win over Northampton and remains doubtful for the Round 1 tie.

On-loan Preston defender Ben Davies does not have permission to play, but Dan Parslow could return after missing out at the weekend and if selected he will be making his 300th appearance for the club.

Recent signing Lewis Montrose is expected to make his debut and there could be starts for striker Michael Coulson and defender Tom Allan, while full-back Jamal Fyfield is also in contention.

Burnley will once again be without Ben Mee and Michael Duff for the trip.

Neither Mee nor fellow defender Duff were available when the Clarets drew 1-1 with Bolton to kick off their Sky Bet Championship season on Saturday.

The former is struggling with a knee injury while Duff is on the sidelines due to a hamstring strain.

Apart from that, though, boss Sean Dyche has a similar squad to select from.
