Oyebanjo in line for return

York could have Lanre Oyebanjo back for their clash with struggling Bristol Rovers.

The defender has returned to training after missing last week's defeat at Plymouth with a hamstring injury and could come into the plans of boss Gary Mills.

However, striker Oli Johnson will not feature again this year for the Minstermen after he underwent surgery to repair a groin injury.

Midfielder Jonathan Smith is in contention for a start after being recalled from his loan spell at Luton and he will hope to displace Michael Potts or Patrick Mclaughlin.

John McReady (dislocated shoulder) has not recovered full-match fitness and striker Michael Coulson (knee) is out for the rest of the season.

City have won just one of their last seven League Two games and have not registered a home victory since October 20.

Matt Lund is available for Bristol Rovers after returning from suspension.

Lund missed the 1-0 home defeat against Dagenham on Saturday after being shown two yellow cards in the game at Wycombe, but he is now primed to make an immediate return to manager Mark McGhee's side.

The under-fire Pirates boss has seen his team slide into the npower League Two relegation zone after seven defeats from nine leagues games, and will be looking for a reaction from his players.

McGhee will continue to be without captain Matt Gill, as the midfielder remains sidelined with a knee problem.

Gill has not made a return to full training this week, and will not be risked against Gary Mills' Minstermen.

Wayne Brown is eligible to play, but may not be included in the travelling party, after confirming he will be leaving the club at the end of the month.
