York striker Walker not for sale

York City manager Gary Mills has pledged the club will not sell striker Jason Walker.

Leading scorer Walker was watched by league clubs earlier this season until injury sidelined him.

Manager Gary Mills told BBC Radio York: "I'm not interested in whether Jason Walker's going to get offers.

"Whatever that offer is, and I mean this to every fan, if someone came in with a couple of million or whatever, he's not going."

Mills said his priority was to have Walker back to full fitness as soon as possible.

"All I want is Jason to get back to the Jason we had in August, September, October and that's going to help us right until the end of the season."

He added: "He's not going to go anywhere and that's me being adamant, that's the chairman being adamant.

"I know there's been clubs watching him but nobody has actually picked up the phone and made an offer for Jason in January."
