York FA Cup hero dies

York City's oldest surviving player, Sid Storey, a brilliant ball-artist from their great 1954-55 FA Cup team, has died at the ago of 90. Storey was a member of the famous 'Happy Wanderers' side that progressed all the way through to the FA Cup semi-finals during the mid-fifties.He made 354 appearances and scored 42 goals for York between 1947-56, and later played for Barnsley, Accrington Stanley and Bradford Park Avenune before returning to Bootham Crescent as trainer-coach for three years.As a mark of respect there will be a moment's applause before tonight's home game with AFC Wimbledon.
