York City v Wycombe Wanderers

York City are missing a number of players for their Football League return against Wycombe Wanderers at Bootham Crescent this weekend.

Midfielder Scott Kerr and centre-back David McGurk were already sidelined and have recently been joined by striker Jamie Reed [left], who is set to miss around a month with a hamstring injury.

Defender Lanre Oyebanjo is back in training following a thigh problem but was not expected to feature and John McReady has recovered from illness.

Fellow recent signing Oli Johnson is another major doubt with a groin strain.

"It's simple, I want to get promoted. We've worked hard in pre-season and we have the momentum from last season still," manager Gary Mills told BBC Radio York.

"We've kept the nucleus of the squad from last year and the new signings have gelled in fantastically well.

"I think some people wondered if this day would ever come, well now it's here. I'd love to see a full house because I think everybody deserves it."

Wycombe striker Stuart Beavon has recovered from illess after being the subject of a bid from Preston North End earlier this week.

Centre-half Dave Winfield is also fit to return in defence.
