York City have dropped into the relegation zone following the early weekend results and will be looking to put that right against Wrexham at Bootham Crescent on Sunday afternoon. But they must do so without skipper Chris Smith (below), who serves a one-match suspension after receiving his fifth caution of the season in the FA Cup first round tie at Rotherham United last weekend His replacement will be either Djoumin Sangare or Greg Young in the middle of defence, while midfielder Danny Racchi could also come back into contention following Alex Lawless' move to Luton Town. Fellow schemer Levi Mackin has returned to training but is not yet ready for a recall. York boss Gary Mills completed loan deals for Leicester City striker Ashley Chambers and Sunderland midfielder Robbie Weir earlier in the week and both were expected to come under consideration subject to FA clearance. “The players set another benchmark at Rotherham and it’s all about maintaining your standards and being consistent. We’ve certainly got to start doing that now," Mills told The Press. “The players have got to believe they are good players. Sometimes they lose sight of that for whatever reason, but I want them to express themselves. Tomorrow’s game is massive for us. The players know the importance of getting three points and that would give us a bit more confidence and belief going into Wednesday.” Wrexham could include their new defensive loan signing Mark Creighton following his arrival from Oxford United. Marvin Andrews (tendonitis) may keep his place after appearing for the full 90 minutes against Luton in midweek.But there weren't expected to be starting roles for former York duo Christian Smith and Kevin Gall.
