York City v Newport County

In a dress rehearsal of their forthcoming FA Trophy final at Wembley, play-off hopefuls York City entertain still relegation-threatened Newport County at Bootham Crescent.

Sixteen-goal striker Jason Walker [hamstring] and on loan Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson [illness] both return to the squad, while there could also be a recall for right-back Jon Challinor [illness] after missing the Easter Monday victory at Alfreton Town. However, experienced centre-back David McGurk [ankle] has become the latest player ruled out for the rest of the season and joins midfielders Scott Kerr [cruciate ligament] and Eugen Bopp [shoulder] on the sidelines.Meanwhile, former Bristol Rovers winger Ben Swallow [right] won't play for the club again following a disciplinary issue. The 22-year-old only arrived in February and has since managed a couple of substitute appearances. The Minstermen recently went down 2-1 on a difficult pitch at Newport but manager Gary Mills was expecting a completely different affair this time around.“I want them to see a different side here tomorrow. I saw how capable my side are at Alfreton and we need to bring that to this game," he told The Press. “Both teams need three points and I’m glad we need them for a different reason to Newport. If we win, we stay fourth and nobody else can do anything about that, so it’s important that we get the three points.” Newport are set to recall skipper Gary Warren but fellow defender Andy Sandell is still out.
