York City v Luton Town

York City are without leading scorer Jason Walker as they face his former club Luton Town in their FA Trophy semi-final first-leg game at Bootham Crescent. The sixteen-goal striker is ruled out by a hamstring injury and is expected to be replaced by Matthew Blinkhorn.

Skipper Chris Smith should return in defence at the expense of Jamal Fyfield after completing a two-match suspension, while fellow defender Chris Doig [right] is also in the squad having recovered from a groin injury. But Ben Gibson and David McGurk are both still out of action.

“Jason’s not as bad as we first thought. He won’t be available for tomorrow but it’s looking like seven to ten days, which would be excellent," York manager Gary Mills told The Press.

"It gives an opportunity for the likes of Blinks, Reedy and Moses to stake their claim. If I decide to go with Blinks, I thought he held the ball up and led the line well when he came on for Jason on Tuesday.”

Luton already have a number of players ruled out with Craig McAllister, Godfrey Poku and ex-York midfielder Andre Boucaud ineligible and James Dance, Dan Gleeson, Amari Morgan-Smith, Dan Walker and Dean Beckwith all currently injured.

Striker John Paul Kissock starts a three-match ban after being sent-off in the midweek defeat at Wrexham while Stuart Fleetwood is rated doubtful with ankle trouble.
