York City v Barrow

16 August 2011 13:50
York City could again be without midfielder Scott Kerr for the visit of Barrow to Bootham Crescent after suffering a back problem before their weekend victory at Ebbsfleet United. Manager Gary Mills was also waiting to discover if defender James Meredith recovers from illness, with Jamal Fyfield his expected deputy should he fail to make it. "Scott Kerr is struggling with his lower back and looks doubtful but he's seeing a chiropractor and hopefully he'll be back for the weekend," manager Mills told The Press."James Meredith did not train yesterday because he's ill so we'll be monitoring him and seeing how he is before the game." Sidelined ex-Kidderminster Harriers midfielder David McDermott (ankle) has already been ruled out of the game. Weekend debutant Adriano Moké appears certain to continue in midfield with Jason Walker leading the attack against his hometown club. “We know our target," Mills continued. "We are looking for three points from both our next two games. “We’ve got to be positive at home and it’s all about how we play. If we play how we can, we will win the game."Barrow also have selection concerns of their own with Richie Baker (ankle), Robin Hulbert (hamstring), Mike Pearson (thigh) and Paul Smith (hamstring) each rated doubtful. But Adam Boyes and Andy Ferrell should both face their former club.
