York City v AFC Telford

19 August 2011 20:44
York City could be without top scorer Jason Walker for the visit of AFC Telford United this weekend. Walker suffered a sore knee during the midweek victory against his former club Barrow which resulted in him having a scan. Striker Jamie Reed [right] would therefore be in line for a first start of the season as summer signing Liam Henderson is similarly doubtful with a knee injury picked up in training.Midfielder Scott Kerr could return to the squad after missing the first couple of games with a back problem and David McDermott is still out."We don't take anything for granted, we don't think Telford will come here and we'll just get three points," York boss Gary Mills told BBC Radio York. "We have to work hard for everything we get."Jason Walker's had the scan and has some fluid around there [his knee] so the specialist is having a look at it. Hopefully there's nothing serious in there."Telford include a couple of former Minstermen within their ranks in forwards Craig Farrell and Alex Meechan. But Adam Proudlock [groin] and defender Stuart Whitehead [illness] were set to miss out while Robbie Williams and Carl Rodgers are both unavailable.
