York always in my heart - Brodie

Richard Brodie has paid tribute to the York City supporters and admitted that it was a massive wrench for him to leave Bootham Crescent. The England 'C' international agreed a £275,000 transfer to big-spending Crawley Town yesterday before completing his move just ahead of the close of the transfer window. But he conceded it hadn't been an easy decision leaving the Minstermen after three-and-a-half years at the club."I am delighted to finally be a part of something that promises to be very special at Crawley Town," Brodie told Crawley's official website."Leaving York City is one of the most emotional decisions I have ever had to make; I have spent many years at the club and it will always have a place in my heart. "I would like to put on record a special thank you to the York City faithful who have always been there for me, rain or shine," he added."I was told a number of clubs had been interested in me this summer but Crawley Town Football Club was the most persistent; I think when this deal happened on deadline day it just made sense for York City, Crawley Town and myself."
