Michael Coulson strike rescues point for York

Michael Coulson scored a brilliant equaliser to earn York a 2-2 draw against fellow strugglers Dagenham & Redbridge.

The former Barnsley striker curled in from 20 yards on 79 minutes to leave both teams without a league win in eight matches.

Earlier, Vadaine Oliver had given the Minstermen the lead before Ashley Hemmings and Jamie Cureton goals put the visitors in the ascendancy.

York forged in front on 14 minutes following Oliver's fourth goal of the season.

The ex-Crewe striker tapped in at the far post after Anthony Straker has scuffed a shot across the face of goal following his burst down the left channel.

Dagenham levelled, though, on 31 minutes with Cureton releasing Hemmings through the left channel and he fired inside home keeper Scott Flinders' near post from 15 yards.

The visitors then took the lead on 56 minutes when Cureton poked an eight-yard effort into Flinders' bottom-left corner after being picked out in the box by Hemmings.

But, after Michael Collins played a square pass to Coulson, he brilliantly found Liam O'Brien's bottom-left corner.
