Ingham earns York a point

York goalkeeper Michael Ingham pulled off four excellent saves to earn his side a point in a 0-0 home draw with Luton.

However, the shot-shy Minstermen have now failed to score in five contests this season and Nigel Worthington's men have only won once.

The Hatters had the better chances of an even first half with Alex Lacey's header missing the target from two yards out following Jake Howells' cross.

Ingham then made his first impressive contribution of the night when he won a one-on-one contest with Mark Cullen, pushing the Hatters striker's low shot around his right-hand post.

The former Northern Ireland international continued to perform heroics after the break, denying Luton midfielder Pelly Ruddock as he burst powerfully clear.

Next, the one-time Sunderland shot-stopper produced a brilliant reflex save to push Luke Rooney's fierce drive over his crossbar, before finally smothering well at Luke Guttridge's feet.

York, now with just one win from their opening 10 fixtures this term, saw captain Russell Penn go close with Mark Tyler also saving well from his 10-yard shot following good work by Anthony Straker and Wes Fletcher.
