Widdrington delighted at victory
Salisbury City manager Tommy Widdrington was delighted with his side's performance and victory over York City at Bootham Crescent on Tuesday night. The visitors came from behind after their former defender Djoumin Sangare had headed York into a first-half lead on an difficult playing surface. "I know Martin will be as disappointed as I am with the state of the pitch here," Widdrington told BBC Sport. He's hit a hell of a strike - sometimes they fly in, sometimes they fly over," continued Widdrington. "I was delighted for him because I thought he was excellent. For a kid of eighteen-years-old on the right, and one of seventeen on the left, both of which have had to have permission from school to come and play - I'm not joking!"I'm absolutely made up. Foyley's got York in the top three in this league on merit. They've got one of the best records over the last four months in the league and it's no mean feat to come here and win."And like I said, I didn't think it was a lucky win at all.
